23/01/2007 Renewal Arts Looking Forwards
Write something short, they said. Just sum up the meetings at Gunnar and Sylvie Söderlund’s farm in Sweden. Gee thanks! I don’t even like meetings.
A group of about 10 met for the Annual Team Meeting in the autumn, sitting around Sylvie’s kitchen table tucking into hearty meals as we discussed the structure of Renewal Arts, reflected and looked ahead to the coming year.
It may have been this food factor that inspired the idea of an apple to represent the layers of involvement within the Team. The ‘core’ are those able to put in the legwork to make RA events happen.
The rest of the Team are the ‘apple’ or reference group. (If you find yourself thinking of wry remarks about pips and peel...don’t go there. I have the T- shirt.)
There was great enthusiasm for Bev Appleton and Uwe Steinmetz’s ambitious project to provide an arts programme in Caux next summer. They will need all the support we can give.
